Frequently asked lash & brow questions
Lash Lift & Brow Lamination
A lash lift is a semi-permanent treatment that curls and lifts your natural lashes from the root, making them appear longer, fuller, and more defined. We use Elleebana products, which are known for their gentle yet effective formulas.
Brow lamination is a treatment that restructures your brow hairs, setting them in your desired shape. It creates a fuller, more uniform look and is perfect for taming unruly brows or achieving that fluffy, "soap brow" effect.
Yes! At PB Beauty Bar, we exclusively use Elleebana products, which are formulated with high-quality, gentle ingredients. With proper care, these treatments are completely safe for your lashes and brows and will not cause damage.
Lash lifts can last upwards of 12 weeks, while brow lamination results last 4-6 weeks. Results may vary depending on your natural lash and brow growth cycle and aftercare.
Lash lifts and brow laminations should not be painful, but they can feel uncomfortable for some clients. During a lash lift, there is gentle tension placed on the lashes, your eyes remain closed, and your waterline can be slightly exposed. Because it is a chemical process, some clients may experience mild stinging, itching, or watery eyes at certain points in the service.
We do everything we can to keep you comfortable, including careful product placement, timing adjustments, and checking in throughout your appointment. We can also offer you a fan to help move those fumes! All solutions are fully removed by the end of the service, so any irritation is typically limited to the appointment itself and resolves quickly afterward.
If you have very sensitive eyes or have experienced irritation with similar services in the past, let us know ahead of time so we can take extra precautions.
For lash lifts, arrive with clean, makeup-free lashes. We do not account for makeup removing time, and certain mascaras can be hard to fully remove and impact the product penetration and lash lift results. If you had to come with mascara on, please ask us for a makeup remover wipe and head to the bathroom to remove it yourself first. For brow lamination, avoid using oils or heavy creams on your brows 24 hours before your appointment. Avoid applying self-tanner on your face for 72 hours before or after your lamination. Self-tanner can react with the lamination chemicals, causing discoloration such as green or orange brows.
- If you get them wet in the first 24 hours, use the provided spoolie to brush them back in place so the weight of the water doesn't hold them down in their setting phase.
- Avoid steam, swimming, stovetop cooking, opening the dishwasher right when it's done and saunas during this time.
- Use Elleebana aftercare (retailed at our salon) to keep your lashes and brows hydrated and healthy.
- Avoid rubbing your eyes or brows.
Yes! After the first 24 hours, you can wear makeup as usual. However, you may find you need less makeup since your lashes and brows will already look amazing. You can your lash curler at any point during your grow out.
Lash lifts are great for anyone with natural lashes that don't have noticeable gaps in them. Brow lamination is ideal for anyone looking to enhance their brow shape and fullness. While allergies are VERY rare with this service, please note allergies to the tint happen from time to time. If you are allergic to hair dye, please don't book a tint with your lift or lamination.
